Job Title: Sponsorship Sales Director

Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week

Reports to: Head of Sales

FLSA Status: Exempt (Salary)

Salary: Base salary plus commission (100k-250k in expected total compensation)

Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Sponsorship Sales Director to join our team! As the Sponsorship Sales Director, you will be responsible all of our sponsorship and affiliate revenue. The Sponsorship Sales Director will develop and manage a team of sponsorship and affiliate sales reps for our events and media properties. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our company and events while sharing inspiring messages and values with our attendees. Currently, our company does over 20 large scale events with thousands of attendees and hundreds of smaller events with hundreds of attendees per year. This position will report to the Head of Sales and include a competitive salary and a commission structure.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop, train, and manage the sponsorship and affiliate sales team.

Sponsorship Acquisition:

  • Identify potential sponsors and develop strategies to engage them in supporting our events.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of sponsorship leads and opportunities.
  • Initiate and manage relationships with key decision-makers at target companies.
  • Present compelling sponsorship opportunities to potential sponsors, showcasing the unique benefits of partnering with our events.
  • Negotiate sponsorship packages, ensuring a win-win outcome for both parties.
  • Close sponsorship deals and secure signed contracts.


Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for key sponsors, ensuring excellent relationship management throughout the sponsorship lifecycle.
  • Foster strong relationships with sponsors, understanding their needs and aligning sponsorship benefits accordingly.


Sales Management:

  • Manage and provide guidance to the Sponsorship Sales Reps and Affiliate Sales Reps.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Reps to develop strategies for acquiring sponsorship and affiliate partnerships and increasing revenue streams.
  • Support the Sales Reps in identifying potential affiliates, negotiating agreements, and nurturing relationships.
  • Monitor affiliate performance and provide necessary training and support to optimize their sales efforts.


Marketing and Promotion:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies that effectively highlight sponsor brands and messages.
  • Collaborate with sponsors to integrate their branding and messaging into our events and marketing materials.
  • Identify creative ways to showcase sponsor brands and offerings during the events, maximizing their exposure and impact.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Maintain accurate records of sponsorship prospects, activities, and revenue.
  • Provide regular reports on sponsorship sales, revenue projections, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze sponsorship trends and market dynamics to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Proven track record of successfully selling sponsorships for events.
  • Strong understanding of Christian events and / or the financial events, target audiences, and sponsor expectations is a plus.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a demonstrable ability to close deals and meet revenue targets.
  • Ability to build something from scratch.
  • Outstanding relationship management abilities, with a focus on building long-term partnerships.
  • Previous experience managing and leading sales teams or individuals.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple sponsorship opportunities simultaneously.



Qualifications and Experience Preferred:

  • 5+ years of related work experience.
